Not having to spend about 5 hours in transit this weekend has made the weekend seem super long and relaxing.
To add to the relaxation, I also treated myself to long sleeps and long baths. I feel more relaxed than I have since the summer.
I did some Christmas shopping this weekend. I braved the Eaton's Centre (going between 7 and 9 on Friday and 6-7 on Sunday meant the crowds weren't bad at all). I've been remiss in bringing my camera places with me so my picture-a-day project is at a standstill right now. (However, I pledged to try it for a week, and I did make it a week.) I really wish I'd remembered my camera when I was at the mall; there is a stunning huge tree covered in Swarovski crystals. I swear I'll get a picture next time I go.
Today I went for a movie and dinner with Becca T and a couple of university friends who I haven't seen for a very long time. It was fun. The movie was Deja Vu with Denzel Washington. I'd perhaps give it 3 stars out of 5. I generally don't go for action-y movies. If a movie is too exciting, I get bored and fall asleep. Since I didn't fall asleep during this one, I'll say it wasn't half bad. (I had wanted to see Happy Feet in 3D but I was voted down. Boo-urns.) Dinner was the festive special at Swiss Chalet. Yum!!
That's it for now. I have to get back to reading. It's staff book club meeting on Wednesday and I've got a couple hundred pages to read. I was the one who suggested the book so my face would be a little red if I don't have it finished.

I looked around a bit this weekend, but didn't get anything. Its still too early to make the final decisions. That Denzel movie didn't really peak my interest in the previews so I will pass on it for now, maybe on video.

I would bump Deja Vu up a star, myself. I was thinking about how many times they had the main character going through that investigation--how many times he had died and failed. I tried to keep that as ambiguous as possible, so not to give too much away.
I loved "The Prestige". Have you seen that one, Christielli?
I've started my christmas shopping, only because I hate being stuck in the malls when it is busy.. it's bad enough I have to work in that environment...I can not imagine myself at Eatons center at this time of year... when I went in May it was almost to busy... i'm so anti social ;)

Hey, Yes I can atest to the already crazy mall shopping even in Calgary. We have an Eaton Centre too... I wonder if that was a useless fact you never wanted to know... probably... enjoy transit, I know I always do :P
