Right now I'm sitting on my lovely 27th floor balcony writing this post. I love wireless... except when it decides to cut out randomly for a couple of minutes, usually when I'm in the middle of something important. Anyway, it's nice to be sitting in the *slightly* cooler air outdoors as opposed to inside the apartment.
Only 4 more full days of the 2004/2005 school year. And I'm pretty much done everything, so I'm really only gooing to make appearances for those days and clean a couple more things off of my desk. Summer's here!
More importantly, I only have 5 more sleeps until my departure day for Australia! I can't wait. I really, really need to start packing. Well, at least tonight I did some laundry. Clean clothes will help me.
Tomorrow night TB and I are going to go see John K Samson of the Weakerthans/Christine Fellows at the Mod Club. It will be a good time. We've only been to one concert before at the Mod Club, and it was a great venue. We especially liked the fact that all of the minors had to be up on the balcony, while we older folks got to be close to the stage.
I am quite disappointed with my concert going patterns this year. Part of the reason I wanted to move back to Toronto was to go to more concerts. So far I've only been to *gasp* two concerts in 2005. I went to see Cuff the Duke/Joel Plakett Emergency in January and then The Constantines/Weakerthans in April. Both concerts were excellent, so where I am lacking in quantity, at least I am compensating in quality.
I'll be missing some good shows while I'm in Australia, but I can't complain too much about that. In August, I have my Ben Folds/Rufus Wainwright double bill coming up, which I am soooo looking forward to. Also, I just heard that Tori Amos is playing at the Molson Ampitheatre so I'll have to go with OE, as is tradition. There are also some good free shows (ie Joel Plaskett) at the Harbourfront in August. So, things are improving.
While I'm in Australia my best concert buddy in the world (TB) will be rockin' in the free world sans moi. She's got Edgefest on July 1st (the day I leave) and then she's going to Live 8 on July 2nd (the day that won't exist for me).

I find myself jealous of your wireless access and in turn your laptop.
The Weakerthans are playing the Folk Fest here, and I'm gonna have to fight to get out of work to be there in time.
I'm not a huge fan of Joel Plaskett, though I did see them open for The Hip here in the spring. Shame they were drowned out in the arena, I'm sure they'd sound much better in a smaller venue.
