#BEDM - Dream Job

When it comes to reality, I think I do have my dream job.  It's something for which I have the qualifications, and capabilities.  I get to actually apply what I learned in university to my job, and it challenges me daily.  I get paid a good wage with good benefits.  I enjoy going to work each day.  Yes, it has its frustrations (like how we've hit the point in the year where students are getting closer to summer and their attention spans wane), but overall it's a great career for me and I am thankful for it.

However, what would be my absolute dream job?

I think I'd have two part-time jobs.

One, for when I need downtime, would be working in an independent book/music store.  I'd love chatting with customers about books and music, and just hang out reading during slow times.

My other job would be to write travel guides.  Getting paid to stay in different hotels, try out different restaurants and experience different attractions.  And then have some time to write about it.  That would be great.

I think I would tire of all of the traveling and need quiet time, and that's where the book/music store job would come in.  And then when my publisher would need a new travel guide, off I'd go.

I've worked at an independent music store. It is not as great as it seems. It is retail therefore it carries all the Hell of humanity that is retail.

I like your music/book shop idea. Imagine talking to people all day about it - you'd be awesome at it! Sometimes I wonder if I spend more time talking about books than I spend reading them.
